Demitasse Cup and Saucer with Sterling overlay Bavaria

We offer a very unique demitasse porcelain cup and saucer with a sterling silver overlay. Both the cup and saucer are marked 1000/1000. ("'1000/1000' or '1000/FEIN', stand for the same and note the grade of silver used. This requires some explanation: all grades above 900 in Germany are called 'Feinsilber' (fine silver), but of course there are various qualities. Most people know the grade 925 (Sterling silver) or even 970 (enamel silver)." Both the cup and saucer are also marked 'Gebr. Bavaria' on the bottoms with a green stamp. Unfortunately, The cup has many cracks with the sterling overlay keeping it tightly in place. The saucer is excellent. The early 1900's set displays well and just look at the intricate work on the overlay. The sterling alone is worth more than my asking price.
