19th Century Limoges Haviland Marseille jardiniere tres petite size, with muted flowers, gilt trim

Dedicated Haviland collectors, those who have limited space, and those who are seeking the perfect gift, rejoice! Good things come in small packages, great things come in tiny packages! This adorable Haviland jardiniere on the Marseille blank measures four inches long and stands less than two inches at its highest point; it's a world of charm, innocence, and antiquity that would fit in a child's hand.

The curves and swirls of this lovely blank are identical to those of her big sisters; I've found several of these 19th century Haviland factory decorated jardinieres, but this is the only one I've found in this special size. The pink flowers may be spider mums, and the incredible rim edge is highlighted with brushed gilt. The flowers appear on all outer and inner surfaces of the vase. The piece has no chips, cracks, or repairs, there is some wear to the gilt as one would expect after about 130 years or more.
