Large Coronet Borgfeldt Limoges chocolate pot with pink and yellow roses, lavish gilt

One is never surprised to find the Borgfeldt (Coronet) Limoges import mark on especially fine antique Limoges porcelain. This chocolate pot was manufactured by the Coiffe firm between 1891 and 1914, with the pot being decorated by the studio the importer maintained in Paris. The pink and yellow roses have raised white enamel accents and an artistic touch I particularly admire is the use of the bright green in conjunction with the gilt trim.

The pot measures about 10 ½ inches high to the top of the lid finial and the intricately molded handle is a work of art in and of itself! The pot is in excellent condition but I have photographed a small deep scratch or crack at the base of the pot on the gilt trim, it has no real effect on display but must be mentioned for accuracy.
