1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

$50 USD1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These 9 1/2 inch dinner plates with pattern of blue flowers and grey and rust colored leaves are between 114 and 122 years old. They bear GDM marks 1 in green and 3 in blue and are in very good to excellent condition with very few, faint utensil marks here and there. There is heavy (perhaps 50 percent) gilt loss at the narrow rim edge border. There are six of these plates with no chips, cracks, or repairs and the white body glaze and florals are in impressive condition for their age, the plates ...
19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

$425 USD19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These gorgeous gilt on white Haviland Richelieu pieces date to the 1870s, I have both a large soup tureen and a square covered vegetable dish (listed separately). The finials are among the most elaborate I’ve ever seen and this is a very large tureen, measures 13 1/2 inches in length across the handles, 8 ½ inches wide, and stands 7 ½ inches to the top of the lovely finial. A benefit of the height and shape of the lid finials is that they are easy to grasp firmly, this may account in part for ...
19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

$195 USD19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
The very earliest Charles Field Haviland pieces bear Mark 1, impressed initials CFH, dating this gorgeous Moss Rose covered sugar, in pristine condition, to the 1868—1881 era. Moss Rose was one of the earliest Haviland popular designs and those of us who grow them in our gardens love them! The sugar stands seven inches tall and measures nearly the same across the handles, which are marvelously detailed with gilt, see close-ups. Note especially the lovely “triple ring” lid finial and the ...
19th Century Haviland demitasse cup and saucer autumn colors

$100 USD19th Century Haviland demitasse cup and saucer autumn colors

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Finding these 19th century factory decorated Haviland cup and saucer sets in excellent condition is a treat, this one has the slurp style saucer that was popular back then and the orange flowers appear fresh and lively after more than 120 years! The handle is gilt trimmed with the gilt leaves one often sees on these cups and height measures 2 1/2 inches, saucer diameter 5 1/8 inches. Marks as shown.
19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

$100 USD19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Attention to detail is the hallmark of 19th century Limoges, and this Haviland blue roses antique demitasse cup and saucer set is finely detailed. I especially appreciate the way the design on the inner cup rim edge is repeated on the saucer rim, this is a rather unusual effect one seldom sees. The pieces are factory decorated and I think it’s a safe bet the blue roses have a charm all their own, being unusual. Both pieces are in remarkable condition and present as shown in the pictures. Saucer ...
Pair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

$125 USDPair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Very pretty pair of Haviland chocolate cups and saucers, marks date these sets to the 1888--1896 era but the decoration is likely amateur. The flowers and trims vary a little but they make a very lovely display as a pair. Saucers are the slurp type and measure 5 inches across, cup height is almost 3 inches tall. There is a tiny base rim nick on one cup, no other damage barring slight gilt loss on one saucer inner well. They do make a charming display item.
19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

$150 USD19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This is hands down, no contest, the loveliest antique Haviland cake plate I've ever seen. It's lavish without being fussy, colorful without being gaudy, and in pristine condition. The time period is 1876--1886 and it measures 10 inches across the incredibly ornate gilt patterned handles.
19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

$150 USD19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
No effort was spared in about 1888 in the making of this beautiful Haviland Meadow Visitors cake plate, from the carefully rendered butterfly and birds to the bright pink flowers; and the reticulated handles feature an elaborate leaf and vine flat gilt design that is incredibly detailed. The plate measures 10 ½ inches across the fancy handles, it does have a small rim nick or flaw primarily on the reverse, see photo, but it is visible from the front if you look very carefully. I don’t think it ...
1880s CFH/GDM Haviland large relish or celery dish with fancy gilt trimmed handles, brown and

$150 USD1880s CFH/GDM Haviland large relish or celery dish with fancy gilt trimmed handles, brown and blue flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
If you’re going to buy a 19th century CFH/GDM Haviland relish or celery dish, you may as well buy one with beautiful detail at the handles. This lovely dish is 12 inches long and 5 inches wide, and the brown floral transfer decoration is greatly enlivened by touches of bright blue. Marks date the dish to the 1880s and it is in excellent condition with only minor wear to the gilt. The blank is rare and many Haviland collectors rightly have a preference for pieces this early, they have a charm and ...
19th Century Haviland Ranson Limoges dresser tray with reticulated handles, pink roses and gil

$175 USD19th Century Haviland Ranson Limoges dresser tray with reticulated handles, pink roses and gilt

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This marvelous factory decorated 19th century Haviland dresser or comb and brush tray has an asymmetrical flat gilt pattern all around its border, in places the gilt embellishments are more than an inch wide and tiny pink roses and grey and gilt accents comprise the inner design, with a central motif thrown in for good measure. It's a very feminine and delicate piece of antique porcelain that has a timeless appeal. The tray measures 11 1/2 by 8 3/4 inches and has an unglazed bottom. Condition is ...
19th Century Limoges Haviland Marseille jardiniere tres petite size, with muted flowers, gilt

$175 USD19th Century Limoges Haviland Marseille jardiniere tres petite size, with muted flowers, gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Dedicated Haviland collectors, those who have limited space, and those who are seeking the perfect gift, rejoice! Good things come in small packages, great things come in tiny packages! This adorable Haviland jardiniere on the Marseille blank measures four inches long and stands less than two inches at its highest point; it's a world of charm, innocence, and antiquity that would fit in a child's hand. The curves and swirls of this lovely blank are identical to those of her big sisters; I've ...
Haviland Limoges plate signed Jennings gooseberries with intricate, hand painted double border

$250 USDHaviland Limoges plate signed Jennings gooseberries with intricate, hand painted double border

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland:Department Store Mark
Jennings (first name unknown to me) was an early North Dakota china painter said to have studied in Chicago with Aulich. Some of her work was sold through Ogden, Merrill, and Greer, a St. Paul department store and catalog company. Her work is unusual in its composition and here, in the use of an almost filtered effect in her background colors. Rather than seamlessly matching the colors, she allows an almost white, irregular shade to wander in and out of the design elements, much as light would ...
Antique Haviland all white rectangular serving tray platter

$175 USD Offers ConsideredAntique Haviland all white rectangular serving tray platter

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This stunning antique 19th century Haviland all-white rectangular tray with elaborate scalloped border is in pristine condition, the all-white finish plays up the curves and angles of the blank dramatically. The tray measures 12 ½ long by 8 ¼ inches wide and stands 1 ½ inches tall. It is unusual to find pieces of this age in such pristine condition. The only damage I was able to find on the entire piece is a shallow scratch about ½ inch in length. A beautiful antique porcelain that shows true ...
Haviland Limoges handpainted plate signed Jennings with pink flowers, irregular gilt border

$225 USDHaviland Limoges handpainted plate signed Jennings with pink flowers, irregular gilt border

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland:Department Store Mark
One of the most interesting things about the artist Jennings, a North Dakota painter who worked in the early 1900s, is her distinctive use of gilt borders to enhance the beauty of her china painting. Here she has embellished the curving, irregular gilt border with hand applied black curlicues. She uses a range of green shades from near-black to pale mint to set off the range of pinks in the flowers and the greens are more reminiscent of the sea than anything one might find in a garden. It's also ...
Set of four 19th century Haviland Meadow Visitor Torse shape plates

$250 USDSet of four 19th century Haviland Meadow Visitor Torse shape plates

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These 19th century Haviland Meadow Visitor dinner plates have the arresting Torse shape for the rim, and the butterflies are vivid shades of brown and blue. Painted areas are still fresh looking and in remarkable condition for the age of these plates. Please see close-ups to appreciate the detail of the painting for the butterflies, it's astonishing. One of the plates has no flaws but the other three 9 5/8 inch diameter plates have small rim flaws, please see all photos to assess. As the areas ...
Hand painted antique Haviland plate children with string phones

$110 USDHand painted antique Haviland plate children with string phones

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This unique and evocative hand painted Haviland plate from the 1880s depicts a young boy and girl using what my father says were called "string phones" in his day. The plate does have a chip on the scalloped rim edge and a tight hairline crack that extends down to the top of the boy's hat. I have also taken close-ups of three pinpoint sized indentations which are manufacturer's flaws. The painting is well executed with the figures perfectly proportioned and lovely detail in the costumes, you ...
19th Century Haviland Wedding Band gold on white molded rope covered sugar with two impressed

$185 USD19th Century Haviland Wedding Band gold on white molded rope covered sugar with two impressed marks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Collectors have a special appreciation for the oldest pieces, and this Haviland covered sugar in the molded rope or cable design dates to the 1860s and bears the impressed H & Co mark as well as another impressed mark, please see the photos. The blank is nearly identical to a piece in one of the Gaston books, but the other impressed mark is probably of English origin and the piece was decorated by the Haviland firm. The molded rope designs on the finial and handles are intricate and the lavish ...
Antique Haviland Ranson Limoges mug hand painted violets

$100 USDAntique Haviland Ranson Limoges mug hand painted violets

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Violets and gilt-trimmed handle adorn this Haviland Ranson mug, it sits up on a scalloped foot and has no damages to note, very pretty flowers and those who collect the Ranson pieces will probably attest mugs are harder to locate than ordinary cups and saucers, sugars and creamers, etc. The mug stands 3 1/2 inches tall.
Antique Haviland hand painted saucer with cartouche motif, gilt trim

$100 USDAntique Haviland hand painted saucer with cartouche motif, gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
I don’t often buy saucers without cups, for obvious reasons; but this gem cries out for a rescue! There are three hand painted cartouches of varied landscape scenes against a deep claret background; these show wear, especially under magnification, but pretty anyway to the naked eye, and gilt embellishments make for a very fancy effect indeed. The reference books show some similar professional examples, and this amateur effort on a very old Haviland blank (1888—1896) may have been an attempt to ...
Antique CFH/GDM compote with multicolored flowers

$135 USDAntique CFH/GDM compote with multicolored flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Marks date this lovely Charles Field Haviland compote to the 1882--1900 period and the flowers look freshly painted. The compote has no chips, cracks, or repairs, there is heavy gilt loss both of the rim edge and on the base, the gilt under the bowl portion has fared better. This is the first Haviland compote I have found and it displays beautifully despite the gilt loss. The compote stands 4 3/4 inches high and measures 8 3/4 inches across the rim in diameter. It looks wonderful with the ...
Antique Charles Field Haviland open creamer, diamond shaped body

$100 USDAntique Charles Field Haviland open creamer, diamond shaped body

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This too is an old (1868--1881) piece, Charles Field Haviland decorated, with an intriguing diamond shape to the body and a complex handle, all highlighted with gilt. Gilt loss is minor for age of the piece, which stands high and measures inches from spout to handle. Would make a very interesting addition to a collection of Haviland or Limoges creamers as the blank is unusual.
Antique Haviland Marseille soup tureen with brown and yellow roses

$395 USDAntique Haviland Marseille soup tureen with brown and yellow roses

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
I am proud and delighted to offer this outstanding 19th century factory decorated Haviland Marseille large soup tureen with yellow and brown roses and lavish gilt accents. I’ve been lucky enough to find three Marseille butter dishes, all with intact drains, over the last several years; this large tureen is the only one I’ve ever found, and while I will look hard, it may be the last. The Marseille blank is a winning blend of pomp, elegance and whimsy. The tureen measures more than nine inches ...
Antique CFH/GDM pitcher with multicolored flowers, elaborate handle

$120 USDAntique CFH/GDM pitcher with multicolored flowers, elaborate handle

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Marks date this beautiful pitcher to the 1882--1900 period, it is in excellent condition with minor wear to gilt and paint, see photos. The handle has an elaborate, gilt trimmed thumb rest and the height is just shy of six inches at the highest part of the spout. I have a very similar compote for sale in the shop, that piece is a plain blank but the flowers are very similar to those on this piece and the marks are the same.
Antique Theodore Haviland round covered dish with double drip accents, scalloped blanks

$200 USDAntique Theodore Haviland round covered dish with double drip accents, scalloped blanks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
I've sold plates with this lovely double drip border before, but have never found any of the serving piece before, this round covered vegetable dish measures 10 inches in diameter across the sponged gilt handles, and stands more than five inches high to the top of the finial. The dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, but there is a small depressed area near one handle, I'm unsure if it's a manufacturer's flaw or a damage spot, please see close-up to assess. The dish ...

$285 USDAntique 19th Century Haviland Ranson cracker jar Limoges biscuit cookie jar with purple and green fronds, gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Scarce as the proverbial hen’s tooth, but much prettier and more durable, this 19th century factory decorated Ranson Haviland and Co. biscuit (also called cracker or cookie) jar will take pride of place in your collection! The blank features an elegant, rounded flared body that sits on a scalloped, gilt trimmed base. The lid is a work of art, please see close-ups to appreciate the beauty of the finial, with its ribbon edge gilt trim, and the purple and green fronds are even repeated on the ...
Antique Theodore Haviland for Tiffany bouillon cup and saucer set of 4

$325 USDAntique Theodore Haviland for Tiffany bouillon cup and saucer set of 4

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These exquisite bouillon cup and saucer sets were manufactured and decorated between 1894 and 1903 by the Theodore Haviland Company of Limoges and also bear a red mark for Tiffany's of New York. An experienced porcelain dealer once told me Theodore Haviland quality is the best, and these sets are a persuasive argument that she's right. There is an enormous amount of fragility, beauty, and attention to detail in these gorgeous sets, and they are in very fine condition for their age. The sets are ...
