D & Co Limoges lady's hand painted manicure tray set with nail buffer, artist signed

$1,200 USDD & Co Limoges lady's hand painted manicure tray set with nail buffer, artist signed

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Manicure Dresser Set
The charm of this antique hand painted forget-me-nots Limoges lady’s manicure tray set (including the porcelain nail buffer resting in its barge-shaped holder!) is undeniable, with its lavish blanks and sweet decoration of hand painted forget-me-nots. The American artist, E.D.U., has signed her initials on the unglazed tray bottom. The set is between 109 and 115 years old and ALL pieces bear the same mark for the Delinieres firm. Unlike many other Limoges vanity or dresser sets, all these pieces ...
Limoges Pitkin & Brooks carnations sugar and creamer, unusual blanks

$195 USDLimoges Pitkin & Brooks carnations sugar and creamer, unusual blanks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
I’ve never sold these graceful blanks before, and if you need some icing on your cake, the pieces also bear a seldom-seen mark for the Pitkin & Brooks firm of importers that decorated these Limoges wares. The blanks are so intriguing with their deep scallops, and the sugar lid has a beautiful raised molded flower. The creamer handle has a thumbrest that looks like a feather! The flowers are deep rust and magenta carnations and the pieces are decorated on all sides. Condition is excellent and the ...
1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

$50 USD1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These 9 1/2 inch dinner plates with pattern of blue flowers and grey and rust colored leaves are between 114 and 122 years old. They bear GDM marks 1 in green and 3 in blue and are in very good to excellent condition with very few, faint utensil marks here and there. There is heavy (perhaps 50 percent) gilt loss at the narrow rim edge border. There are six of these plates with no chips, cracks, or repairs and the white body glaze and florals are in impressive condition for their age, the plates ...
19th Century Antique Pouyat Limoges art nouveau demitasse set gilt on white

$100 USD19th Century Antique Pouyat Limoges art nouveau demitasse set gilt on white

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
This is a very delicate Pouyat Limoges factory decorated demitasse cup and saucer set dating to the 1890s, the saucer is fluted and the cup has a lovely molded handle, see close-ups. The set shows some minor wear to its gilt decoration and there are a couple of stray spots of gilt here and there on the white surface. The set stands 2 1/2 inches tall when cup rests on saucer.
19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

$425 USD19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These gorgeous gilt on white Haviland Richelieu pieces date to the 1870s, I have both a large soup tureen and a square covered vegetable dish (listed separately). The finials are among the most elaborate I’ve ever seen and this is a very large tureen, measures 13 1/2 inches in length across the handles, 8 ½ inches wide, and stands 7 ½ inches to the top of the lovely finial. A benefit of the height and shape of the lid finials is that they are easy to grasp firmly, this may account in part for ...
19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

$195 USD19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
The very earliest Charles Field Haviland pieces bear Mark 1, impressed initials CFH, dating this gorgeous Moss Rose covered sugar, in pristine condition, to the 1868—1881 era. Moss Rose was one of the earliest Haviland popular designs and those of us who grow them in our gardens love them! The sugar stands seven inches tall and measures nearly the same across the handles, which are marvelously detailed with gilt, see close-ups. Note especially the lovely “triple ring” lid finial and the ...
19th Century Haviland demitasse cup and saucer autumn colors

$100 USD19th Century Haviland demitasse cup and saucer autumn colors

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Finding these 19th century factory decorated Haviland cup and saucer sets in excellent condition is a treat, this one has the slurp style saucer that was popular back then and the orange flowers appear fresh and lively after more than 120 years! The handle is gilt trimmed with the gilt leaves one often sees on these cups and height measures 2 1/2 inches, saucer diameter 5 1/8 inches. Marks as shown.
19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

$100 USD19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Attention to detail is the hallmark of 19th century Limoges, and this Haviland blue roses antique demitasse cup and saucer set is finely detailed. I especially appreciate the way the design on the inner cup rim edge is repeated on the saucer rim, this is a rather unusual effect one seldom sees. The pieces are factory decorated and I think it’s a safe bet the blue roses have a charm all their own, being unusual. Both pieces are in remarkable condition and present as shown in the pictures. Saucer ...
Pair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

$125 USDPair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Very pretty pair of Haviland chocolate cups and saucers, marks date these sets to the 1888--1896 era but the decoration is likely amateur. The flowers and trims vary a little but they make a very lovely display as a pair. Saucers are the slurp type and measure 5 inches across, cup height is almost 3 inches tall. There is a tiny base rim nick on one cup, no other damage barring slight gilt loss on one saucer inner well. They do make a charming display item.
19th Century Pouyat Limoges demitasse set with raised gilt paste design motif

$100 USD19th Century Pouyat Limoges demitasse set with raised gilt paste design motif

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
This charming and fresh looking Limoges demitasse cup and saucer set may be more than 140 years old! The Pouyat firm’s mark dates 1862 to the early 1900s and the set is professionally decorated with a delicate and lavish pattern of raised gilt flowers. The set is made of fine, thin clay and is in amazing condition for its age, there is a very small shallow rim edge flake on the saucer edge but it's not very noticeable and won't spoil your enjoyment. The base glaze is white with a very faint hint ...
19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

$150 USD19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This is hands down, no contest, the loveliest antique Haviland cake plate I've ever seen. It's lavish without being fussy, colorful without being gaudy, and in pristine condition. The time period is 1876--1886 and it measures 10 inches across the incredibly ornate gilt patterned handles.
Pickard pitcher signed "FV" Franz Vobornik poppies with gold paste

$325 USDPickard pitcher signed "FV" Franz Vobornik poppies with gold paste

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Pickard
Artist signed "FV" for Franz Vobornik, who was known for his raised gold paste designs, this Pickard pitcher bears a design of poppies and has no chips, cracks, or repairs. The pitcher is an excellent example of how much can be accomplished with gold against a solid background color as the gold design elements are highly textured. This design could not be found in the Reed book although other examples of gold paste designs signed by Vobornik are there and I assume it may be scarce. There are ...
19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

$150 USD19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
No effort was spared in about 1888 in the making of this beautiful Haviland Meadow Visitors cake plate, from the carefully rendered butterfly and birds to the bright pink flowers; and the reticulated handles feature an elaborate leaf and vine flat gilt design that is incredibly detailed. The plate measures 10 ½ inches across the fancy handles, it does have a small rim nick or flaw primarily on the reverse, see photo, but it is visible from the front if you look very carefully. I don’t think it ...
19th century P & Fils Limoges sugar and creamer with raised gold paste, footed blanks

$225 USD19th century P & Fils Limoges sugar and creamer with raised gold paste, footed blanks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
Much of the fun associated with a collection of fine antique porcelain Limoges sugars and creamers is the sheer variety the various firms came up with, both in terms of the blanks and in terms of their decoration. Here I am offering a beautiful set with raised gilt paste decoration and blanks I’ve never seen, they have appealing and complex body shapes as well as intricate handles and finials. The blanks sit up on flared feet and they are rounded but narrow dramatically at the necks, note this ...
19th Century LS (Leon Sazerat) Limoges hand painted seafood plates with raised gilt borders

$350 USD19th Century LS (Leon Sazerat) Limoges hand painted seafood plates with raised gilt borders

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
These marvelous fully hand painted antique (1890s) Limoges seafood plates each display a different ocean scene and have beautiful inner and outer gilt borders. The inner borders have been used to frame the scenes. The fancy blanks with raised edges were manufactured by the Leon Sazerat and Blondeau Limoges firm in the late 1890s (the mark is the first used by the firm, and dates to before Blondeau joined the firm) and the plates were probably painted by an American artist. All the plates have ...

$150 USD1880s CFH/GDM Haviland large relish or celery dish with fancy gilt trimmed handles, brown and blue flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
If you’re going to buy a 19th century CFH/GDM Haviland relish or celery dish, you may as well buy one with beautiful detail at the handles. This lovely dish is 12 inches long and 5 inches wide, and the brown floral transfer decoration is greatly enlivened by touches of bright blue. Marks date the dish to the 1880s and it is in excellent condition with only minor wear to the gilt. The blank is rare and many Haviland collectors rightly have a preference for pieces this early, they have a charm and ...

$175 USD19th Century Haviland Ranson Limoges dresser tray with reticulated handles, pink roses and gilt

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This marvelous factory decorated 19th century Haviland dresser or comb and brush tray has an asymmetrical flat gilt pattern all around its border, in places the gilt embellishments are more than an inch wide and tiny pink roses and grey and gilt accents comprise the inner design, with a central motif thrown in for good measure. It's a very feminine and delicate piece of antique porcelain that has a timeless appeal. The tray measures 11 1/2 by 8 3/4 inches and has an unglazed bottom. Condition is ...

Dedicated Haviland collectors, those who have limited space, and those who are seeking the perfect gift, rejoice! Good things come in small packages, great things come in tiny packages! This adorable Haviland jardiniere on the Marseille blank measures four inches long and stands less than two inches at its highest point; it's a world of charm, innocence, and antiquity that would fit in a child's hand. $250 USDHaviland Schleiger 422 Marseille covered dish, gilt on white, department store mark

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges Haviland
This superb early (1888--1896) Haviland Marseille Schleiger 422 gilt-on-white covered dish bears the added bonus of a department store mark for Wright, Tyndale & Van Roden of Philadelphia. There are few things in this world as elegant as fine china, and this blank is far superior to most! This is a large dish measuring about 6 ½ inches tall to the top of the finial, and about nine inches long and across. The gilt detailing is in excellent condition, very minimal loss, and there’s even a gilt ...
19th century Limoges coffee pot bee flying insect with flowers, twisted branch handle, Johnson

$450 USD19th century Limoges coffee pot bee flying insect with flowers, twisted branch handle, Johnson and Wing department store mark

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Department Store Mark
Don't be fooled by the pictures, this is a coffee pot, it is taller than the pictures make it look, standing a full nine inches high to the top of lid finial. The P.H. Leonard firm was New-York based and imported Limoges, this gorgeous pot bears a store mark for Johnson and Wing of Minneapolis, and the Leonard mark dates it to late 1890s through 1914, color scheme argues for the earlier date as the colors are very vivid. I love the way the lid can be turned to display either a lazy bee or the ...
19th Century Limoges Mustache Moustache Cup and Saucer with pink roses, bachelor buttons, mold

$250 USD19th Century Limoges Mustache Moustache Cup and Saucer with pink roses, bachelor buttons, molded reticulated handle

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
If you haven't already started a collection of these antique Limoges mustache cup and saucer sets, there is no better way to start than with this fine porcelain Limoges beauty! Perhaps more than any other item, these sets marry the best of male and female traits. The blank, produced by the Coiffe firm, is incredibly elaborate but as the pieces are so large, it's masculine at the same time, see close-ups to appreciate. The set was decorated by the Bawo and Dotter or Elite Works firm, and all ...

$350 USD19th Century D & Co. Limoges portrait plate boy fishing

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
This marvelous Delinieres (D. & Co.) Limoges portrait plate bears their first decorating mark in red, dating the plate to about 1881--1893. The 9-inch diameter plate is richly detailed and in excellent condition, note the level of detail in the background as well as in the central image of the boy with his fishing pole, you can even see the finely drawn line he's cast into the water. The plate's ruby colored border features a gilt floral design and there's a narrow gilt border at the extreme ...

$400 USDHuge 19th century Gutherz Limoges platter with butterflies, basketweave rim design

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
Here you have a massive 19th century Limoges serving platter bearing a decorating mark for the Gutherz firm, which operated in Limoges for a relatively short period of time in the late 1800s. Pieces with the Gutherz Limoges decorating mark are elaborate and not in large supply. The platter measures an impressive 17 ½ inches by 12 ¼ wide, and stands 2 inches tall. A series of lavender butterflies dance around the rim and inner surface of the platter. The raised basketweave pattern on the rim edge ...
Haviland Limoges plate signed Jennings gooseberries with intricate, hand painted double border

$250 USDHaviland Limoges plate signed Jennings gooseberries with intricate, hand painted double border

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland:Department Store Mark
Jennings (first name unknown to me) was an early North Dakota china painter said to have studied in Chicago with Aulich. Some of her work was sold through Ogden, Merrill, and Greer, a St. Paul department store and catalog company. Her work is unusual in its composition and here, in the use of an almost filtered effect in her background colors. Rather than seamlessly matching the colors, she allows an almost white, irregular shade to wander in and out of the design elements, much as light would ...
Antique Flambeau LDBC Limoges dog plaque poodle signed Luc

$225 USD Offers ConsideredAntique Flambeau LDBC Limoges dog plaque poodle signed Luc

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
Animal subjects are among the most rare of all Limoges pieces but I've never been very impressed by pictures of these subjects until now. Turns out this pup's pedigree explains why he's more appealing than most of the book examples I've seen . . . this fully hand painted 10 by 9 1/2 inch plaque from the Flambeau (LDBC) firm is signed by noted artist Luc. The dog's face is depicted in great detail and he looks pensive and intelligent rather than "cute." This is what an "uncut" poodle looked like, ...
Antique Haviland all white rectangular serving tray platter

$175 USD Offers ConsideredAntique Haviland all white rectangular serving tray platter

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This stunning antique 19th century Haviland all-white rectangular tray with elaborate scalloped border is in pristine condition, the all-white finish plays up the curves and angles of the blank dramatically. The tray measures 12 ½ long by 8 ¼ inches wide and stands 1 ½ inches tall. It is unusual to find pieces of this age in such pristine condition. The only damage I was able to find on the entire piece is a shallow scratch about ½ inch in length. A beautiful antique porcelain that shows true ...
Haviland Limoges handpainted plate signed Jennings with pink flowers, irregular gilt border

$225 USDHaviland Limoges handpainted plate signed Jennings with pink flowers, irregular gilt border

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland:Department Store Mark
One of the most interesting things about the artist Jennings, a North Dakota painter who worked in the early 1900s, is her distinctive use of gilt borders to enhance the beauty of her china painting. Here she has embellished the curving, irregular gilt border with hand applied black curlicues. She uses a range of green shades from near-black to pale mint to set off the range of pinks in the flowers and the greens are more reminiscent of the sea than anything one might find in a garden. It's also ...

$250 USDSet of four 19th century Haviland Meadow Visitor Torse shape plates

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These 19th century Haviland Meadow Visitor dinner plates have the arresting Torse shape for the rim, and the butterflies are vivid shades of brown and blue. Painted areas are still fresh looking and in remarkable condition for the age of these plates. Please see close-ups to appreciate the detail of the painting for the butterflies, it's astonishing. One of the plates has no flaws but the other three 9 5/8 inch diameter plates have small rim flaws, please see all photos to assess. As the areas ...
Antique Pickard Limoges punch bowl, Purple Grapes and Etched Gold Border, artist signed

$895 USDAntique Pickard Limoges punch bowl, Purple Grapes and Etched Gold Border, artist signed

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Pickard
This beautiful and early antique Pickard Studio Purple Grapes and Etched Gold Border decorated punch bowl dates 1903—1905; I count it as probably the finest piece of antique Pickard ever offered for sale in my shop. Three examples in the Pickard reference book are all signed by John Anton Coufall, and this was said to be his design; I couldn’t find his signature on the bowl, but a close examination of the detail on this bowl, compared to the pictures in the book, reveals that if this was not ...
