D & Co Limoges lady's hand painted manicure tray set with nail buffer, artist signed

$1,200 USDD & Co Limoges lady's hand painted manicure tray set with nail buffer, artist signed

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Manicure Dresser Set
The charm of this antique hand painted forget-me-nots Limoges lady’s manicure tray set (including the porcelain nail buffer resting in its barge-shaped holder!) is undeniable, with its lavish blanks and sweet decoration of hand painted forget-me-nots. The American artist, E.D.U., has signed her initials on the unglazed tray bottom. The set is between 109 and 115 years old and ALL pieces bear the same mark for the Delinieres firm. Unlike many other Limoges vanity or dresser sets, all these pieces ...
Limoges Pitkin & Brooks carnations sugar and creamer, unusual blanks

$195 USDLimoges Pitkin & Brooks carnations sugar and creamer, unusual blanks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
I’ve never sold these graceful blanks before, and if you need some icing on your cake, the pieces also bear a seldom-seen mark for the Pitkin & Brooks firm of importers that decorated these Limoges wares. The blanks are so intriguing with their deep scallops, and the sugar lid has a beautiful raised molded flower. The creamer handle has a thumbrest that looks like a feather! The flowers are deep rust and magenta carnations and the pieces are decorated on all sides. Condition is excellent and the ...
Pair pink roses Limoges candlesticks with raised gilt accents

$295 USDPair pink roses Limoges candlesticks with raised gilt accents

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:French:Limoges
It’s been years since I’ve located a matching pair of hand painted Limoges candlesticks, and these stand a full eight inches tall! Looking ahead to the holidays, they would be so lovely on the family table, and you could use gold, pink, or blue candles as well as soft white. The bases are adorned with hand painted pink roses, raised gilt scrollwork, and the beautiful robin’s-egg blue highlights bring it all together. Photo shows the most decorated side of the holders. The base of each holder ...

$125 USDOriental cup and saucer landscape with boats, pagodas, and flowers

Porcelain
This incredibly detailed and fine Oriental porcelain cup and saucer set commands attention and will enhance any collection. The porcelain is eggshell thin; the design can be clearly seen through to the inside of the cup, and the composition of the hanging blossoms and pagodas or temples is outlined and highlighted with fine gilt. There is also a lovely border design of red and gilt, intricate and delicate at the same time. Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks, repairs or scratches. For ...
Haviland Clover Leaf Schleiger 98 Spooner/Olive dish

$75 USDHaviland Clover Leaf Schleiger 98 Spooner/Olive dish

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:Haviland
Ranson guide identified this pretty serving piece as a spooner, I generally see them called an olive dish. Condition is excellent and the pattern seems to have been fairly popular. Dimensions are 7 1/2 inches long by 3 3/4 inches wide, stands 1 3/4 inches tall.
Haviland Clover Leaf Schleiger 98 open sugar, hexagonal shape

$60 USDHaviland Clover Leaf Schleiger 98 open sugar, hexagonal shape

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:Haviland
Identified in the Ranson guide as a sugar bowl, hexagon shape, this could also obviously be used to serve small candies, mints, or nuts. The piece is in excellent condition with even the gilt trim near 100 percent intact. Measures 2 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide. I see open sugars now and then but this shape, seldom.
Orlik hand painted cracker jar biscuit jar cookie jar with elaborate finial, small white flowe

$195 USDOrlik hand painted cracker jar biscuit jar cookie jar with elaborate finial, small white flowers

Porcelain:French
This very pretty, collectible porcelain cracker jar has a gilt-trimmed finial shaped like an apple with leaves and bears marks that say “made in France” and “Orlik hand painted.” It is vintage rather than antique, other pieces I found with similar but not identical Orlik marks date to the 1940s. Some of the pieces with this mark come from Germany, others from France, this one is marked “made in France” which was used after 1930s. The cracker jar has small white flowers painted all around the ...
Tall hand painted roses tankard with artist notations on base

$500 USDTall hand painted roses tankard with artist notations on base

Porcelain:Antique:Unmarked
Less often than we care to think, an item that truly merits the words "unique" or "rare" comes along . . . Offered for your consideration is this beautiful large (10 inches tall)hand painted pastels roses tankard; the beauty is the primary consideration and it makes a wonderful display, but what makes this such a unique opportunity are the artist's notations on the base. The piece was clearly intended either as an artist's sample (i.e., a blueprint so others could reproduce the design and colors ...
CAC Ceramic Art Company grapes stein mug on elaborate blank

$395 USDCAC Ceramic Art Company grapes stein mug on elaborate blank

Porcelain:Antique:Ceramic Art Company
Superbly hand painted with grapes ranging from yellow to deep purple tones, this elaborate stein or mug bears an early (1898--1906) mark for the Ceramic Art Company of Trenton, New Jersey. Detailed artwork is enhanced by the incredibly elaborate blank, which has raised designs in the clay along the handle and base. Skillful blending of the background colors is one of many indicators of the artist’s skill. Mug or stein stands a full six inches tall. This appears to be a left-handed mug, while ...
Pouyat Limoges hand painted pink cabbage roses vase with unusual blank

$200 USDPouyat Limoges hand painted pink cabbage roses vase with unusual blank

Porcelain:By Maker Or Type:French:Limoges
The charm of another era and innovation of the Pouyat Limoges firm combine to produce this lovely and unusual vase, the blank is very intriguing and the long neck looks much like a wax-dripped candle. The resemblance is so strong I briefly considered whether it might, in fact, be a candle holder! Imagine the fun of inserting three exotic birds of paradise (my personal favorite flower) into the long neck of this vase with its delicate and romantic pink cabbage roses on a mint green background! ...
Pickard Border Primavera bonbon dish signed Passoni

$125 USDPickard Border Primavera bonbon dish signed Passoni

Porcelain:Pickard
This bonny (ha-ha!) Pickard bonbon dish in the Border Primavera design was produced in the 1912—1918 period and is signed Passoni. The design encompasses vivid flowers as well as gilt elements edged with fine black outlines, much more intricate pattern than one realizes at first glance. Arturo Passoni was born and studied art in Italy, he worked for Pickard for various periods from 1905—1918, eventually changing the spelling of his his name to Arthur Passony. The dish has reticulated handles and ...
Pouyat Limoges mug with purple clover, molded handle

$195 USDPouyat Limoges mug with purple clover, molded handle

Porcelain:French:Limoges
Another Pouyat Limoges product, this hand painted clover mug has a gorgeous molded handle with a flower motif. The mug is decorated front and back and has a shallow feathered gilt trim on its inner rim edge. It is in excellent condition with light wear to the feathered trim. The mug stands 4 1/2 inches tall and measures 4 inches across the widest part of the mug to its outer handle edge. The Pouyat white ware mark dates 1890—1932. I see many mugs but very few with such a pretty, sculpted handle.
1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

$50 USD1880s antique Haviland CFH/GDM dinner plate

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These 9 1/2 inch dinner plates with pattern of blue flowers and grey and rust colored leaves are between 114 and 122 years old. They bear GDM marks 1 in green and 3 in blue and are in very good to excellent condition with very few, faint utensil marks here and there. There is heavy (perhaps 50 percent) gilt loss at the narrow rim edge border. There are six of these plates with no chips, cracks, or repairs and the white body glaze and florals are in impressive condition for their age, the plates ...

19th Century Antique Pouyat Limoges art nouveau demitasse set gilt on white

$100 USD19th Century Antique Pouyat Limoges art nouveau demitasse set gilt on white

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
This is a very delicate Pouyat Limoges factory decorated demitasse cup and saucer set dating to the 1890s, the saucer is fluted and the cup has a lovely molded handle, see close-ups. The set shows some minor wear to its gilt decoration and there are a couple of stray spots of gilt here and there on the white surface. The set stands 2 1/2 inches tall when cup rests on saucer.
19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

$425 USD19th Century Haviland Richelieu soup tureen gilt on white

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
These gorgeous gilt on white Haviland Richelieu pieces date to the 1870s, I have both a large soup tureen and a square covered vegetable dish (listed separately). The finials are among the most elaborate I’ve ever seen and this is a very large tureen, measures 13 1/2 inches in length across the handles, 8 ˝ inches wide, and stands 7 ˝ inches to the top of the lovely finial. A benefit of the height and shape of the lid finials is that they are easy to grasp firmly, this may account in part for ...
19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

$195 USD19th Century Charles Field Haviland Moss Rose covered sugar impressed mark

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
The very earliest Charles Field Haviland pieces bear Mark 1, impressed initials CFH, dating this gorgeous Moss Rose covered sugar, in pristine condition, to the 1868—1881 era. Moss Rose was one of the earliest Haviland popular designs and those of us who grow them in our gardens love them! The sugar stands seven inches tall and measures nearly the same across the handles, which are marvelously detailed with gilt, see close-ups. Note especially the lovely “triple ring” lid finial and the ...
Pink roses and spider webs sugar shaker muffineer, artist signed

$185 USDPink roses and spider webs sugar shaker muffineer, artist signed

Porcelain:Antique:Unmarked
Sweetly decorated with pink roses all around, this muffineer or sugar shaker is signed by artist M. Thompson and the artist has rendered the open roses and spider webs with elaborate detail. Spider webs are done with great delicacy; one doesn’t always see them on these floral designs. A feathering technique was used on the rose petals, making the viewer want to reach out and touch them. Close attention was paid to the composition of the painting on this muffineer with the pink roses and greenery ...

$100 USD19th Century Haviland demitasse cup and saucer autumn colors

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Finding these 19th century factory decorated Haviland cup and saucer sets in excellent condition is a treat, this one has the slurp style saucer that was popular back then and the orange flowers appear fresh and lively after more than 120 years! The handle is gilt trimmed with the gilt leaves one often sees on these cups and height measures 2 1/2 inches, saucer diameter 5 1/8 inches. Marks as shown.
19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

$100 USD19th Century Haviland Limoges blue roses demitasse cup and saucer

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Attention to detail is the hallmark of 19th century Limoges, and this Haviland blue roses antique demitasse cup and saucer set is finely detailed. I especially appreciate the way the design on the inner cup rim edge is repeated on the saucer rim, this is a rather unusual effect one seldom sees. The pieces are factory decorated and I think it’s a safe bet the blue roses have a charm all their own, being unusual. Both pieces are in remarkable condition and present as shown in the pictures. Saucer ...
Pair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

$125 USDPair 1880s Haviland chocolate cups and saucers with gilt trim, flowers

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
Very pretty pair of Haviland chocolate cups and saucers, marks date these sets to the 1888--1896 era but the decoration is likely amateur. The flowers and trims vary a little but they make a very lovely display as a pair. Saucers are the slurp type and measure 5 inches across, cup height is almost 3 inches tall. There is a tiny base rim nick on one cup, no other damage barring slight gilt loss on one saucer inner well. They do make a charming display item.
Art nouveau Bavarian purple lilies plate signed Cary

$125 USDArt nouveau Bavarian purple lilies plate signed Cary

Porcelain:Antique:Bavaria
Glorious purple lilies painted in the art nouveau style and signed by the artist, Cary; the plate is in excellent condition and the gilt is quite astonishing for the age of the plate, tiny loss. Design elements are outlined in flat gilt and the meandering of the artwork around the border and rim is very typical of the art nouveau style. The 8 1/2-inch diameter Bavarian plate was made by the Tirschenreuth Bavarian factory circa 1909.
19th Century Pouyat Limoges demitasse set with raised gilt paste design motif

$100 USD19th Century Pouyat Limoges demitasse set with raised gilt paste design motif

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
This charming and fresh looking Limoges demitasse cup and saucer set may be more than 140 years old! The Pouyat firm’s mark dates 1862 to the early 1900s and the set is professionally decorated with a delicate and lavish pattern of raised gilt flowers. The set is made of fine, thin clay and is in amazing condition for its age, there is a very small shallow rim edge flake on the saucer edge but it's not very noticeable and won't spoil your enjoyment. The base glaze is white with a very faint hint ...

19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

$150 USD19th Century Haviland cake plate with reticulated handles, elaborate gilt trim

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
This is hands down, no contest, the loveliest antique Haviland cake plate I've ever seen. It's lavish without being fussy, colorful without being gaudy, and in pristine condition. The time period is 1876--1886 and it measures 10 inches across the incredibly ornate gilt patterned handles.
Pickard pitcher signed "FV" Franz Vobornik poppies with gold paste

$325 USDPickard pitcher signed "FV" Franz Vobornik poppies with gold paste

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Pickard
Artist signed "FV" for Franz Vobornik, who was known for his raised gold paste designs, this Pickard pitcher bears a design of poppies and has no chips, cracks, or repairs. The pitcher is an excellent example of how much can be accomplished with gold against a solid background color as the gold design elements are highly textured. This design could not be found in the Reed book although other examples of gold paste designs signed by Vobornik are there and I assume it may be scarce. There are ...
19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

$150 USD19th Century Limoges Haviland Meadow Visitor cake plate with reticulated handles

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges:Haviland
No effort was spared in about 1888 in the making of this beautiful Haviland Meadow Visitors cake plate, from the carefully rendered butterfly and birds to the bright pink flowers; and the reticulated handles feature an elaborate leaf and vine flat gilt design that is incredibly detailed. The plate measures 10 ˝ inches across the fancy handles, it does have a small rim nick or flaw primarily on the reverse, see photo, but it is visible from the front if you look very carefully. I don’t think it ...
Elite Works Limoges shaving mug personalized Max Jahnke

$125 USDElite Works Limoges shaving mug personalized Max Jahnke

Porcelain:French:Limoges
There's just enough of the mark on the bottom of this personalized Limoges shaving mug to identify it as Bawo & Dotter (Elite Works) decorating Mark 11, 1920--1932. The script is hard to read, but I think the mug was made for someone named Max Jahnke. The decoration shows very heavy wear to its gilt, the name and central motif are less worn. Most of the examples I've seen in reference books are about this worn and it doesn't seem to affect their value to a great extent. There are no chips, ...
Four Theodore Haviland cup and saucer sets with pink and grey flowers

$145 USDFour Theodore Haviland cup and saucer sets with pink and grey flowers

Porcelain:French:Limoges:Haviland

19th century P & Fils Limoges sugar and creamer with raised gold paste, footed blanks

$225 USD19th century P & Fils Limoges sugar and creamer with raised gold paste, footed blanks

Porcelain:Antique:French:Limoges
Much of the fun associated with a collection of fine antique porcelain Limoges sugars and creamers is the sheer variety the various firms came up with, both in terms of the blanks and in terms of their decoration. Here I am offering a beautiful set with raised gilt paste decoration and blanks I’ve never seen, they have appealing and complex body shapes as well as intricate handles and finials. The blanks sit up on flared feet and they are rounded but narrow dramatically at the necks, note this ...
