This dress is truly breathtaking. It is made from a very fine off-white lawn fabric that is lighter than air. The beauty of this dress is seen throughout. There is insertion and other lace, tiny pleats at the bodice and neck, as well as at the end of the sleeves and cascading half way down the gown and not ending until the dress touches the floor. The yoke is simply magnificent boasting the tiniest little tucks where it joins the bodice to finally froth in an abundance of more laces and pleats. Finally, sprinkled all over the dress are little lace appliques. This is a very old dress (circa 1890) and should be handled accordingly. There is some melting and tiny little holes (the size of pin heads) but nothing that detracts from its beauty - the skirt is so very full, once it is on your doll, these do not show. On the right sleeve, it appears someone along the way attempted a repair but again, because of the fullness, it is not noticeable once your dollie is dressed. Carolyn is my model and a vision of loveliness in it, even though the dress may be a tad big for her. Here are the measurements: Dress length: 17 inches ~ Sleeve length: 8 inches ~ Width between shoulders: 6 inches. This is a wonderful dress any dollie would be so happy to wear.
