When I purchased these blue goldstone scarab beads I decided that I wanted to complement it with an appropriate pendant. I found this darling cat face and what is more Egyptian than scarabs and a cat! I searched and located Egyptian looking beads to complement and like magic this darling cat necklace was born to be worn by cat lovers and scarab lovers everywhere.

And, it is loved by everyone. I always make a test design and wear it around town to hear any comments and this one has drawn quite a few meows. It makes a great necklace for business, the bank tellers I go to love it, the church ladies love it, and I wear the test one with my jeans. So, it is quite versatile as it will blend with many colors. This one is waiting for you to take it home and love, too.

Like all of my necklaces, the scarabs and antiqued brass accents are lovingly hand stung with double knots on reinforced silk coordinating thread. No quick knot tools of any kind are ever used in any of my hand knotted items. This allows for more secure knots and gives this necklace a beautiful lay.

For those of you who dont know about goldstone, it is an imitation gemstone with a fascinating background. It is told that a group of monks centuries ago, were working on some stained glass and a novice monk was carrying copper. He lost his footing, and the copper fell into the molten glass. At first, the other monks were mad he had spoiled the glass. But, when they saw the beautiful glass with the gold specks that formed when it cooled, goldstone was born! It is actually glass.

It is this golden glitter that draws peoples attention to this stone. It is said to set us dreaming and to stir excitement. It reminds us that we all deserve and want a little excitement in our daily lives as we do our work just as the monk who accidentally created it.
