I set out to make this unusual necklace for myself, but once it was completed, I just had to sell it here on Ruby Lane! I wanted to create a necklace that looked like those worn in early 20th Century Czechoslovakia; yet, incorporate my own signature design style.

I varied from early style by interspersing 6mm, mauve, satin finish Czech Glass round beads among the beautiful 8mm and 6mm round Cobalt Blue Fire Polished ones. The mauve beads draw your attention to the beautiful flowers in the pendant which appear delicate and tone down the bright blue.

Rather than blackened brass, I choose to use high quality 14kt gold filled 3mm smooth round beads and accents which would give this necklace a rich look and warm feel while matching the gold in the beautiful cloisonné pendant. I suspended the pendant using what has become my signature clover wire wrap design. This gives the pendant a touch of the old without becoming overbearing. The pendant hangs from a medium sized high quality 14kt gold filled bail.

This beautiful and unique necklace is crowned with a high quality 14kt gold filled easy to open clasp. But, I can make one for you with a lobster clasp if you desire.

As my mother came from Czechoslovakia in the early 20th century and taught me to do hand work with thread from the age of 5, this necklace is a tribute to those of her time and country who often made handmade necklaces and rosary beads with knotting between. Each bead is meticulously double hand knotted between on silk thread that has been bonded to nylon for strength. This gives the necklace a beautiful lay on your body which cannot be found in today's manufactured jewelry. The double hand knotting gives this necklace a security and beauty which is unmatchable by those done with quick knot tools.

The simple matching earring are available in your choice of high quality 14kt gold filled screw backs or kidney wire style. Just let me know which style you desire.

It measures approximately 17 inches from end to end and hangs down 10 ¼ inches when the clasp is closed.
