Here is a beautiful hand blown and cut wine rinser, having two dips and standing 3"hi with a 5 1/2" diameter at top and 3" at the base. Dating from the 19thC, it is intricately cut first, with a scalloped edge; then with four draped cuts surrounding the rinser under which are sharply executed tear drops setting on the first of 8 steps reaching from just below center tapered down to the base. It is a beautifully executed piece of crystal. The polished pontil is over-cut with a 16 point star set in the center of 8 more smaller steps. A really marvelous example of another time, in excellent condition with four tiny marks (see images) as evidence of its long existence. C1850, England.
