$45 USDLarge Robert Wood Print on Textured Art Board, "Sunset Shore", circa 1950s

Collectibles:Decorative Arts:Lithograph:Robert Wood, Framed
Robert Wood is, perhaps, the most reproduced master in America. His contemporary paintings represent his favorite places and were painted from nature rather than photographs. This textured lithograph on linen weave art board depicts the majestic shoreline of the Pacific coast. A golden glow from the setting sun draws the eye from sky to sun drenched waves crashing to the surf. I have tried to capture in photos the quality of the lithograph that has expertly reproduced the palette technique used ...

Absolutely charming! Each of these 11" x 9.5" ceramic pictures is molded with its own frame. The molds from which these wall plaques were made are from the 4 original 1909-10 drawings of Erma Gilliland, the founder of Duncan Ceramics. Two of the portraits have what, at first, appeared to be cracks but I have since checked with the woman who created these lovely images and she assured me that they are mold flaws and that the items are quite stable. This beautiful 6" vase is retro at its best! The painted pastel pink wild flowers and mint green leaves are done in a classic 30s-40s style. The double handles give the piece a well balanced and artful appeal. There is an interesting area at the top rim above one handle that is either a factory defect or a very well accomplished repair! It is glazed over but strangely flat. The overall age crazing gives a very delicate early look. Miyata Ware is difficult to find and not always marked well. To ...

Collectibles:Decorative Arts
What a wonderful tribute to a teacher! These flower vases are made from a burnished brass alloy, laboratory test tubes and lots of love. At the estate sale where these were purchased, I had the honor to speak with one of the family and the memories and stories were astounding. This set has a small label on the bottom of one that hinted at a great story; it says "Christmas gift while still teaching, late 20s". I asked about them and found that a grandmother had taught at a country school in rural ...

And it was so well protected by all the photos surrounding it on the organ, there are no chips, cracks or fading! A very fun addition to your retro decor.
