We have had this spoon blank before with the Shepard's mark on it. It is clearly marked Sterling & Montgomery Bros. "Maitland" is engraved in script on the back.

The engraved bowl is titled "Hotel Portland" was a wonderful Grand Hotel that was torn down in the 1950's to make way for a parking facility for a department store! There is a view of the Battleship Oregon on the reverse of the handle.

The embossed bowl is titled " Santa Maria " and has a rendering of Columbus's ship. The handle has a bust of Christopher Columbus. Its in excellent condition.
