SALE c1945 Paul Shimon Abstract Hebrew Harlem Painting

I really thought this was a fun painting with definite abstract slant and I believe a social statement of the times. I call this "Hebrew Harlem" and I believe this is painted by Paul Shimon and is signed lower right "Shimon" and dated "1945". Rather bold. I believe this is a casein-watercolor on paper(although I am not absolutely certain). There are scattered references to Paul Shimon who was active in New York in the mid-twentieth century. He studied with Jean Louis Liberte, at the ASL and was a member of the Artists Equity Association of NYC. His works are held at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio. Shimon is listed in Artprice and Who Was Who in American Art.
