Handsome walnut hand carved stationary or desk box from mid 19th century England is exceptional. Fabulous thick raised carving covers the front,back and hinged spine with solid walnut on the opening side with closure of 2 small brass hooks. The two spacious 6.75W X 9.5L interior compartments held stationary and envelopes,clippings or photos and as some have suggested doubled as a cigar box. The piece is in excellent condition and stunning on any desk or chest. Measures 15H X 12L X 1.75H.
