Spice Boxes Rare C.1795-1830 England Hand Carved

Fabulous C.1795-1830 fruitwood round spice boxes from England were all hand milled and threaded so that one box screws onto the next as well as the wooden lid to form a spice column. Each is decorated with a tole like banner on the front displaying the contents. "Nutmeg" with slight wear to the name,"Cloves,Ginger,Mace,All-Spice"make up the assortment. The fruitwood has aged with a rich deep honey tone patina. The boxes twist open easily and are in wonderful condition and just as usable today with exception to a3 small chips to the "All-Spice" bottom edge,1 to the "Cloves". The upper box,"Nutmeg" was separated along the back and bottom side and professionally glued back many years prior. Wonderful addition to any kitchen. Measures 10.5H X 3.5L X 3.5W. Each 2 inch high box holds a large quantity of spice.
