Beautiful metal 19th century French grape hopper originally housed leather straps through the back slots and center front protrusion with handles on either side and back worn around the neck for use to harvesting in the vineyards of years ago. Sometime since that era has been vibrantly hand painted in sage green with flecks of gold. Bright display of purple grapes and vines run along the outside with the wording "Cueillette de Raisin" complete the toleware piece. In excellent condition,the unique large shape wonderful for use as a planter or jardinier large enough for several pots , collection of grasses and silk flowers or fruit,fireplace kindling,knitting or as a magazine rack. Measures 21L X 8H X 11D with a flat bottom for display.
