Magnificent French Bench Walnut 19th Century

Magnificent carved double walnut bench from the 19th century is curved inward in the center on either side. Beautiful patina with highs and lows in the walnut to tone with many other furniture pieces. Four wonderful acanthus leaf carving mixed with floral with a shell effect at the center along the scalloped apron. Either end and all knees have additional carving. Extremely sturdy double "H" support with rosette carving beneath. Still stuffed with straw and covered in a beautiful khaki toned brocade in excellent condition that has a slight sheen in portions of the cream,hint of pink and gold designs. Edged in khaki and sage green gemp. The color is neutral enough to work with all decors.The springs and stuffing in excellent condition,very stable and comfortable seating. One tiny end of one spring has protruded through the liner beneath. Loosening a couple of aged tacks and pulling taut would solve the problem. Excellent condition overall. Measures 40L X 18H X 17W. Perfect size for end of a Queen bed as well as hallways and many other areas.
