Large oval English silver plated entree serving dome lid C.1900 has beautiful scalloped high handle with ornate leaf work below. Four indented "ribs" on each side with decorative shield design on the front with the lettering " XIIL Desperandum" incorporated into the banner at the bottom of the design. The piece is wonderful for use with a platter for the main course as well as desserts and appetizers. In remarkable condition,one very tiny indentation in the front and slight darkening to the finish in areas as any aged silver plate would have,no under lying copper etc.showing. Retains it's antique look without polishing to a brilliant shine. Measures 14.25L X 10.5W X 8H.
