1986 Bing & Grondahl Mors Dag / Mother’s Day Plate – Elephant with Calf

A sweet decorative plate from Bing & Grondahl’s Mother’s Day series, issued in 1986 and titled Elephant with Calf. In the characteristic bas-relief, blue on white underglaze technique, this limited edition plate was created by artist Henry Thelander. The bottom rim reads Mors Dag 1986 (Mors Dag translates to Mother’s Day).

In excellent condition, plate measures approx. 6" in diameter and is designed with two holes in the bottom rim for hanging as a wall decoration. Marked 9386, with the B&G Copenhagen Porcelain – Made in Denmark logo. In original box, with papers/certificate. (The box has writing on the lid and is slightly tattered.)
