We've not been able to pin down the date or exact color of this pitcher, as the list of dates on colored glass and color formulas for Webb found in the Appendix of Hajdamach's British Glass 1800-1914 suggest a few possibilities. Both Rich Golden Amber and Rich Topaz are names that would appear appropriate and are listed with significant amounts of uranium oxide, with the golden amber introduced as early as 1885. Another possibility is Sunshine Amber, which I believe dates as "recent" as the mid-1920s.
Standing 7-1/2" high, the density of the applied handle and base give this blown glass pitcher a two-tone look (well, actually three, when you add in the fluorescent green). Spout to handle, it measures approx. 7" wide. Polished pontil. Some subtle surface wear to the body and a couple of tiny encased bubbles, with moderate wear to the underside. At the left top side of the handle, where it joins the pitcher body, there is a shallow thread-line gathering crease. No maker's mark found, but no mark is needed to know that this pitcher is quality, through and through!
