Old, Large Porcelain Doll Head - Japan

When I acquired this little lady, she sat atop an old, grungy dome-shaped pin cushion that was so tattered... well, she begged me to liberate her from such gloom, and being such a doll, I couldn't resist. From a distance, her face hinted of a German lineage, but upon peeking inside, she is clearly marked Japan. I speculate she dates to around the occupied era, given her prior appearance and cushion platform.

With hand-painted features and golden locks of hair that curl ever so sweetly around her face, this head and shoulders doll bust measures 3" high. No nicks, chips, or cracks, although there is a small porcelain blemish at the crown of her head. Across the back of her shoulders is a shallow, impressed number that appears to be 91435.

Sweet and adorable, this little lady's a real winner!
