A wonderful double-handled Japanese Champleve metalware vase, with enamel work that features a floral wrap at the neck and bulbous base, while a band of enameled stiff leaf tips is found at the top, bottom, and center. With lines and movement at both surface levels, the eyes delight in the dance as they take in the view -- stylized chrysanthemum or Indian lotus flowers and leaves, all done in colors that range from a rich green, deep red, turquoise, and blue-black, with a burst of light in white centers.

Standing 12" high, this bulbous Oriental vase sits on a collar base, with the body having three different patterns etched into the ground or base and a patinated finish. As is typical of champleve pieces usually cast from bronze, this vase is heavy and sturdy, weighing just under five pounds. Handles appear to take on the form of archaic dragons or phoenix. Dates to the early 1900s.

This fabulous piece is in excellent condition, with no damage or notable enamel loss detected. Impressed Made In Japan mark on the underside, along with a handwritten number marking as well.

The default domestic shipping on this has been set to priority mail, but I've provided parcel post as an alternate option as well (see shipping/handling section below).
