Sweet Ronzan Praying Madonna Bust Figurine

Sweet, pure, innocent, serene... all words that immediately came to mind when I first saw this lovely figurine. So, I wasn't at all surprised to find that she is the fabulous work of Italian artist Giovanni Ronzan, a former Lenci worker.

My initial thoughts were that of a maiden in prayer, but subtle elements of the style of this bust figurine ultimately brought me to think she is an image of Madonna -- hair styled in a beautiful crown braid, eyes half closed, and clothing sprinkled with gold stars -- the latter of which were traits Ronzan typically reserved for religious subjects.

This figurine measures approx. 6" high, with base measurements of 3-5/8" x 2-1/4". Other than a tiny nick on the back outer rim of the base, she is as perfect as she appears.
