Spectacular Stick Spatter Spongeware Waste Bowl

What a delightful old (antique) waste bowl, hand-painted in stick spatter style, sometimes called cut sponge. This waste bowl stands 3-1/2" high and measures 5-1/2” in diameter, and is decorated in two bands of what looks like dotted diamonds, in forest green. As can be seen, the sponged paint smeared in the making at a few points, but the charm of the bowl remains. Unmarked, this spatter-ware bowl shows the typical signs of age one would expect -- a few glaze pops and nicks, a small chip on the foot, and areas where the sheen of the clear glaze has gone flat from contact; nothing to seriously detract from a real honey of a bowl.
