Now part of the Royal Doulton Group, Dunn Bennett & Co. is the artful creator of this four-piece set of chrysanthemum plates, which exhibit a blend of the qualities found in blue and transferware patterns. Framed within the slightly scalloped border is a deep, rich blue chrysanthemum pattern, with a dusting of gold scattered throughout and a gilt rim to add the final decorative touch.

These stunning beauties -- perfect to serve as decorative cabinet pieces -- measure 8-1/2" in diameter and are marked with the Dunn Bennett mark first used in 1886. Appearing to have never been used, the pattern is alive with color and shows a high gloss finish. There is a light, fine crazing commensurate with age, and a well-disguised glaze flake or small, shallow nick at the scalloped rim of one of the plates, neither readily detectable or detracting. (One of the plates has a short hairline showing on the underside only.) Truly a captivating beauty!
