Staffordshire Imari Gaudy Welsh Salad Serving Bowl w/ Server Set

Offered here is a fabulous antique salad serving set by Staffordshire potter W. Wood & Co. of Burslem, England. What makes this an especially delightful find is the fact that not only do we have the bowl, all three pieces are still together! Along with the bowl is a matching serving fork and spoon set, all decorated in a Gaudy Welsh style with Imari florals, consisting of colors of iron red, deep blue, and gold.

The bowl has a silverplated rim which is marked "E.P.N.S. / S&B / Made In England"; the serving set is also marked to indicate the electro plated nickel silver content. The bowl, which measures almost 9" in diameter and 4" high, bears the W. Wood & Co. mark used from 1915 to 1932 (crown over Staffordshire knot). The metal to the bowl rim and serving set could use a bit of polishing, and there's crazing commensurate with age, but this set is generally in fabulous condition. A bit of a swivel to one handle, but both are quite secure.

This delightful, hard-to-find set is sure to add a wonderful touch.
