This lovely and rare little piece by Royal Bayreuth features a pastoral scene with ram and sheep on a hillside, and a tree-filled field on the reverse side. Showing the blue Royal Bayreuth mark, first used in the early 1900s, this vase measures 2-3/4" high and approx. 3-1/2" in diameter at the rim. I've seen some call these toothpick holders, but McCaslin lists them as planters or flower pots. Manufactured by Moritz Zdekauer circa 1900, the wide plate rim is decorated with pink rose garlands that are draped between circular bouquets, with roses that trail to the outer edge of the plate's center.
