Beautiful Antique French Miniature Portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte in Tortoise Shell Frame. The painting is magnificent with Napoleon in formal uniform. The epaulets are striking as they are painted with thick paint to highlight them. The buttons on his jacket and hat are also painted in this manner to highlight them. Napoleon has a handsome face in this portrait. He looks strong and decisive. The tortoise shell frame is equally handsome with a tiny border of inlay at the edge. It has its original paper backing and a little hook to hang it up. EXCELLENT condition with no paint loss. The tortoise shell is a bit warped. I tried to show this in a picture. This does not detract and does not show when it is hung up. 2-1/2" across. Accompanying Bonaparte is a Beautiful Antique Miniature Portrait of a French Woman in Tortoise Shell Frame. The painting of a young French woman is magnificent. The costume of the day is wonderfully painted. She is wearing a pink dress with huge sleeves and a silky white collar. Her hat is lacey with a huge pink bow on it. The tortoise shell frame is equally handsome with a tiny border of inlay at the edge. It has its original paper backing and a little hook to hang it up. EXCELLENT condition with no paint loss. The tortoise shell is a bit warped. I tried to show this in a picture. This does not detract and does not show when it is hung up. 2-1/2" across
