This authentic hand made oak English trunk or chest was also called a coffer. Dating to the early 1700's, there is delicate mahogany inlay around the shaped raised panels and drawer fronts, with some restoration.

This historic antique furniture was purchased by an American antique dealer in a village near Manchester, England about 50 years ago. The gleaming finish is beautiful, the wrought iron hinges appear original, and inside there is an interior compartment with a secret drawer. A later support block has been mounted on the underside of the lid, and there is a another later block on the floor inside.

Measurements are 4'10" long, 23" deep and 37" tall. B-T5705

Item ID: B-T5705
