Stunning Tunbridge Ware tea caddy, dating c.1860. It is made in coromandel, with a lovely domed shape and swept sides, and it features a view of Hever Castle on the top bordered by a running floral banding. The swept sides have a very wide band, with a floral mosaic of roses against a whitewood or other light wood background.

Inside there are two lids, both bordered by a thin Tunbridge Ware band and with rosewood knobs. The caddy sits on turned ebony bun feet. The underside of the lid is painted a light blue. The lock works and has its key. When closed the caddy measures approximately 10.5” from side to side at the widest, 6.3” from front to rear at the deepest, and 6.3” in height at the highest.

The box is in excellent condition.
