Exceptional Tunbridge Ware single tea caddy, featuring an image on the top of the box that is thought to be a young Prince Edward (later King Edward VII) with a falcon perched on his right hand and a spaniel jumping at his side. The image is all the more striking because set off against a whitewood veneer. The waist of the caddy has a Berlin woolwork floral pattern.
The inside tea compartment has retained almost all of its original foil lining, and the lid of the compartment has a thin band of mosaic and a turned whitewood knob. The underside of the lid retains its original paper. The box measures 5.3” from side to side, 4.3” from front to back, and is 4.2” in height.
The condition of the caddy is superb, without issues of any kind.
Thanks for visiting.
