David Perry is a woodworker and antique restorer in Tonbridge, England, near Tunbridge Wells, the birthplace of Tunbridge Ware. He has been a frequent contributor to The Woodworker magazine, and is the restorer of choice of a number of antique dealers in England. He is one of the few people capable of restoring the sadeli mosaic so valued in Anglo-Indian pieces from the Bombay Presidency. He owns a number of antique boxes in his own right, some of which can be seen in the pages of Genevieve Cummins recent book. The Harold’s logo is a Vizagapatam jewelry box that I purchased from David.
This piece is one of five tea caddies that David has made, each modeled after a different Georgian or Queen Anne style home in England. The home chosen by David for this piece is The Manor House in Greenwich, built in 1695. The workmanship is absolutely superb throughout.
If you would like to see any or all of the other four that David has made, and compare, Harold’s would be pleased to arrange it.
