Beautiful Victorian rosewood Tunbridge Ware glove box. The lid has a central panel of "tumbling block" perspective cube work, framed by a geometrical tessellated mosaic banding. The various woods used include walnut, ebony, holly, elm, and yew. The front, sides and back have another band of geometrical mosaic likewise using a variety of woods. There is a mother of pearl escutcheon and working key. The inside is fully lined with more recent hand-marbled paper. The box measures 9.1" in length by 3.6" in width, and is 2.5" high.

The box is in exceptional condition with no loss of inlay.
