What a wonder!
The 3/4 inch rounded square black and white African Kazuri Beads used in this necklace are paired with semi-precious Black Onyx coin beads. Kazuri beads are each shaped, painted and kiln fired by tribal women from the clay of Mt. Kenya, Africa. The resulting beads are durable, beautiful, high-quality, and very special, with each one being different. They are made under an International Fair Trade Agreement and their sale helps support disadvantaged children.
Each bead has a small Sterling Silver spacer. The 18 1/2 inch necklace has a large Sterling Silver Lobster Clasp and a two inch Sterling chain extender has been added for more length, as needed.
This piece is another one of the Gypsy Jewels Honoring Africa Collection. I designed and meticulously hand made this necklace to be comfortably lightweight and it is stunningly unique and beautiful in a very special way. It is one-of-a-kind and will be found only at Gypsy Jewels by Sharon.
