Many members of my family were jewelers. My great grandparents John & Francis Brown had a manufacturing jewelers shop in the great English port city of Liverpool as far back as 1870.
According to press cuttings from the time, they made, by Royal Command, items for the 1886 Liverpool International
Exhibition of Navigation, Commerce and Industry which was opened by Queen Victorian 11 May 1886. The exhibition illustrated travel by sea, land and air and my great grandparents made silver bracelets and gold broaches and cuff links which illustrated these themes.]
So, a love of expertly crafted jewelry and other gorgeous items is in my blood.
I adore Art Deco items, perfume bottles/flasks, vintage delights - compacts, jewelry and other collectibles - as well as items which feature owls and dogs.
I seek out items both modest and expensive - but they all have been made or designed by masters and mistresses of their craft, be they unsung artisans, or world famous artists.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
