This charming example of Burmese glass by the firm Thomas Webb & Sons is decorated in one of the loveliest and most popular patterns in the famous Stourbridge England glassmaker’s repoitore – the Hawthorne pattern, also called prunus blossom.
Its fine color development with delicate pink to fuchsia shading on a crimped and ruffled edge is expertly exploited by the delicate botanical enameled decoration designed by Jules Barbe, circa 1888. Sits on a short pedestal and crimped foot. Approximately 4” tall.
Condition is very good. Color and enameled decoration is strong. We could only find one miniscule fleabite to the underside of the foot. It measures less than 1/16” across – see photo
