Lifelike, cold painted, polychrome bronze from an edition of fifteen by acclaimed animalier bronze artist Bill McGlaun.

Though McGlaun's naturalistic approach to sculpting his subjects has been described as "extreme realism", the impetus for his love of wildlife sculpture was inspired by "The Aminaliers", a group of nineteen century sculptors of the Paris Salons.

Mourning Doves and Passion Flowers is a acrylic painted bronze that was commissioned as a gift to Pope John Paul from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in conjunction with the Italian Labor Union. For more information regarding this inspiring work you can visit his website.

Besides the Vatican, Bill McGlaun's work can be seen at Texas A & M University, has produced a number of works for the Gulf Coast Conversation Association and is a member of the Society of Animal Artists.

Dimensions are approximate and include attached wooden base, 19"high x 11-1/2" x 9-1/2" widest. Signed in bronze "Mourning Doves and Passion Flowers" Bill McGlaun 85, and is number 9 of 15. No restorations. Weighs approximately twenty pounds. Allow additional weight for adequate packing. USPS likely will not take this package due to size and weight restrictions.
