Stunning! This fine Herend Porcelain potpourri jar and cover is hand painted on both sides of its double gourd form with two distinct village scenes. Fuchsia pink and heavy gold gilt enamels accent the celeste blue ground.

Pierced carved reticulated lid terminates with a naturalistic rose branch finial. Its 6-5/16” diameter foot supports a flaring and reticulated pedestal that supports the Sevres style handled jar with acanthus, rococo inspired handles.

Stands approximately 15-3/4” tall. Herend over glaze mark in blue plus impressed “HEREND” and “G 010 0”. No damage or restoration. Circa: Post 1948
