Mid Century Modern Murano Glass Apple & Pear Bookends

Sizzling color! This terrific pair of circa 1960 Murano glass bookends actually have three layers of glass.

The vibrant persimmon orange inner layer is overlaid with a clear parison containing gold aventurine foil. The third outer encasement in heavy clear crystal gives height and dimension to this tempting, (but not forbidden fruit).

Pear stands approximately 7-5/8”, apple is approximately 5” tall. Each weighs about 4 pounds. Apple has small loss to the very tip of the leaf, but is not overtly noticeable. Price reflects this issue. Offered elsewhere for as much as $1000.00 A small dark inclusion on the side of the pair is a feature of the handmade glass and not the result of damage.
