Treat someone special to the ultimate luxury – this 14kt gold hairbrush made by R. Blackinton & Co. of North Attleboro, Mass.
Founded by Roswell Blackinton and Walter Ballou in 1862, the firm made sterling silver and gold dresserware sets as well as cigarette cases, compacts and other novelties.
The ornate floral repousse 14kt gold hollow-ware hairbrush has a Brazilian rosewood bristle bed with nylon bristles. Very elaborate monogram “SVB”. Hallmarked “14kt” plus Blackinton’s hallmark, “R” + “B with an arrow” + “Co.
Approximately 10” long. Weighs approximately 8 ounces on our postage scale. No damage or restoration.
