Incomparable beauty! This miniature French enamel vase stands just 2-3/4” tall – but it is a giant when measured in quality and detail.

Its exquisitely hand painted courting scene set at a country chateau features a man and woman in 18th century dress enjoying a musical interlude. Foils in purple and robin’s egg blue highlight the costumes of the charming lovers.

Rocaille style gold gilt enamel of the finest quality decorates the shoulder of the baluster form vase where it transitions from the golden green hues on its body to a rich emerald green neck.

The silver rim and root ring are both hallmarked with indistinct touch marks. One appears to be “S S” within a cartouche.

No damage or restoration. This one is faultless and magnificent!
