Napier Art Deco 1932 Patented “Tells You How” Cocktail Shaker

Quite possibly the quintessential Art Deco cocktail shaker – this circa 1932 silverplate “Tells You How” mixer is a “must have” for any Art Deco aficionado.

Patented in 1932 and sold exclusively thru Saks Fifth Avenue for $7.50 in 1935, this was Napier’s first cocktail shaker. It features an outer sleeve that rotates to reveal specific recipes for fifteen classic cocktails.

Although this one has no dents or damage, Napier’s plating quality was not great, so expect some thinning and discoloration. This one is actually in much better condition than several others we have seen. Impressed “Napier” and two US Patent numbers, 2013618 and 2013616 along with “Also Foreign Patents”.
