When Moser Karlsbad began it's production of glass containing rare earth oxides the resulting the new lines - Alexandrit, Heliolit, and Royalit marked a new paradigm in the world of artistic glass. Moser’s competitors were literally blindsided at the 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Decorative Arts when Moser was awarded a gold medal for this unique and beautiful glass.
This innovative thinking is why so many enthusiastically collect Moser glass today. This rare decanter in a facet-cut, Art Deco style superbly exploits the unique color characteristics of it's formula, which contains neodymium oxide and selenium.
For more examples of this hard to find glass line, see the book, “Moser Artistic Glass Edition Two” by Gary D. Baldwin, page 138. Plate 169, 169b.
