The mahogany, thuyawood and parcel gilt vitrine has a central compartment containing one upholstered shelf and a beveled glass, cartouche shaped door. This compartment has shelf supports for two additional glass shelves, which we do not have. The central door is flanked by two smaller, crescent-shaped beveled glass doors that open to a single display compartment with an upholstered, removable panel.
Below, a bombe cartouche panel with Vernis Martin decoration is flanked by two sets of thuya burl shelves. Terminates with curvilinear, tendril, splayed legs. Vitrine measures approximately 43” wide x 78” tall. Some restoration including a repair to one leg.
The companion parcel gilt cabinet-on-stand in thuya and mahogany has a single drop-down door with a bombe cartouche shaped Vernis Martin floral panel in the center, and two Thuyawood inset panels with c-scroll and gilt wood accents on each side. Upholstered interior has one upholstered wood shelf. The curved and arched top cabinet has curvilinear, carved wood tendrils that “vine” from each side.
The upper cabinet rests on a mahogany and thuyawood burl stand with whiplash-curve carved cornice and gilt wood accents. Splayed legs support a single display shelf in thuya burl. Some restoration including reduction to height of pediment. Cabinet on stand measures approximately 38” wide x 72-1/4” tall. We could find a signature on neither cabinet.
