Vintage 800 silver necklace set with hand carved carnelian helmet cameos. The frame of each cameo is set with twisted 18K gold wire. Each cameo is carved with a different god or goddess representing the different days of the week. There is Diana the goddess of hunting and chastity (monday), Mars the God of war (tuesday), Mercury the god of trade and protector of thieves (wednesday), Jupiter, the father of the Gods (thursday), Venus the Goddess of love and beauty (friday), Saturnus the god of agriculture (saturday) and Apollo the gods of the sun, art & medicine (sunday). The necklace measures 20 1/2" long. The 3/4" x 1/2" spring ring box clasp is set with a scenic cameo. The metal is marked "800". The 7 days of the week cameo plaques measure 3/4" x 5/8" each. The cameo drop in the center of the necklace measures 5/8" x 7/8". The reverse ofthe pendant is signed with 3 initials that look like "JMV". There is a 1/4" line or scratch mark on the reverse of the clasp cameo, it does not show through to the front. Other then this, the condition of this piece is good. I have had the bracelet to this necklace twice in the last 20 years and have seen it for sale many times but this is the first I have ever seen of the necklace.
