Vintage genuine hand carved shell cameo pin/pendant. This piece measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". The frame is openwork with scrolls. The bale is on a hinge. The bale is marked "800" for 800 content silver. The silver is plated in gold (vermeil). The cameo is of the Goddess Athena, daughter of Zeus, known for being strong, wise and fair. There is a 1/8" crack line in the cameo on the reverse, it does not go through to the front.
