Extremely Elaborate Silver '800' Napkin Holder

This is a very interesting and lovely vintage Napkin Holder, circa 1960. Wonderfully detailed with delicate designs of swirling scrolls. The Napkin Holder has as a central small empty cartouche , where you can add engraving if you like. Four ornate pierced legs support this wonderful piece. The silver is thick and heavy and has acquired a nice patina.

Hallmarked '800' and a stamp that says “handmade” in Greek. For serving and decorative pieces the silver needs to be harder than the standard sterling, this is why the silver ratio in European pieces is 800/1000. The Napkin Holder measures approx. 4.7'' long x 3.1'' high.

A very Interesting piece from the past that could be used or added to a fine collection !
