This wood duck stands 8 1/4" tall. The colors are simply gorgeous; orange, green, brown, blue, white, grey. "Woody the Wood Duck" has some chips on the base, the largest being 1/2 of an inch by 3/16 of an inch. Two of the small chips can be seen from the front and back; there is a shallow glaze chip on the right wing as well, as on the topknot. Also a shallow chip under the tail-feathers on the right side.
The importer's mark is the KB/NY and signifies the Koscherak Brothers of New York, who were high-end dealers who supplied to the top department stores and boutiques in America.
Zaccagnini's style was distinctively Art Nouveau; after opening his studio in 1890 in France, he began winning awards and recognition in all the arts and crafts competitions he entered.
