REDUCED Antique Hayden Brass Bucket C-1851

This Hayden Spun Brass Bucket is a wonderful early piece. It came from an estate sale and I was told it was an 'apple-butter' bucket. Beautiful with a warm and rich patina. It is marked on the bottom "H.W. Hayden's Patent Dec 16, 1851 Extended Dec. 15, 1865, Reissued Feb. 13, 1866, Manufactured by the Ansonia Brass Co". The handle is hand made iron with pointed ends. This piece has been well cared for, but it has been used. There are several indentations in the bucket and the bottom is rounded(from hanging over a fireplace??) . It has no breaks or cracks. The patina and a few dings just add to the character of this antique piece. It is a wonderful addition to any collection. It stands almost 14" tall with the handle up and it is 8" tall measuring the pan only. The top rim diameter is 11 3/4" and it is 8 1/2 " diameter across the bottom. It is a nice heavy piece of brass. This would be a wonderful accent piece near the fireplace, or to hold books, gather apples and more.
