This Hayden Spun Brass Bucket is a wonderful early piece. It came from an estate sale and I was told it was an 'apple-butter' bucket. Beautiful with a warm and rich patina. It is marked on the bottom "H.W. Hayden's Patent Dec 16, 1851 Extended Dec. 15, 1865, Reissued Feb. 13, 1866, Manufactured by the Ansonia Brass Co". The handle is hand made iron with pointed ends.
